Afterlight

Afterlight explores the threshold between visibility and obscurity, where perception shifts as light gives way to darkness.

Working in low light, I create photographs in which familiar scenes become ambiguous, revealing only fragments of form while allowing the viewer’s imagination to complete what remains unseen. The resulting tension between revelation and concealment transforms ordinary places into psychologically charged spaces that feel both familiar and uncertain.

Influenced by the visual language of film noir, the series uses contrast, shadow and atmosphere not to tell a specific story but to invite contemplation of ambiguity, memory and the complexities of human experience. Afterlight continues my exploration of photography as a medium that reveals not only what is seen, but also how perception shapes our understanding of the world.
