Aerials explores the atmosphere as a landscape of continual transformation, where light, weather and shifting cloud formations create fleeting moments of beauty, tension and uncertainty.
Photographing the sky in transition, I wait for relationships between clouds, light and open space to align before translating them into black-and-white compositions. Removed from their natural context, the clouds become abstract forms whose changing structures suggest both serenity and turbulence, inviting multiple interpretations.
Inspired by an enduring interest in weather and climate science, the series reflects on the atmosphere as a dynamic system in constant motion. Rather than documenting specific meteorological events, Aerials uses the expressive language of clouds to contemplate change, impermanence and the evolving relationship between humanity and the natural world.
